11 bit studios S.A. got a head start to 2019

In the first quarter of 2019, 11 bit studios S.A. posted almost PLN 14.2m in revenue (six times more than a year before), nearly PLN 5.8m in operating profit and more than PLN 4.4m in net profit. As at the end of March, its financial assets stood at almost PLN 75m.

“The Company’s robust financial performance in the first three months of the year is attributable to the strong sales of the entire portfolio of our games, including in particular Frostpunk and Moonlighter,” said Grzegorz Miechowski, President of the Management Board of 11 bit studios S.A., and added that the two games had been marketed several quarters earlier. In his opinion, the monetisation of Frostpunk and Moonlighter has only just begun. “We deeply believe that they will generate solid cash flows for the Company well into the future. They will be another This War of Mine, which – after more than four years from its release – continues to sell very well and is a significant contributor to our financial performance,” Miechowski says. He admits that his belief is based, among other things, on the size of the Steam wishlist. “In the case of Frostpunk, the wishlist includes almost 1.2m items, which shows what an immense sales potential the game still has,” he added.

In his opinion, the second half of 2019 will be a hectic time for 11 bit studios S.A. “In addition to releasing the console version of Frostpunk, the Company is preparing to port Children of Morta to four hardware platforms at a time and to launch Moonlighter for mobile devices. The Company is also planning to release paid add-ons to Frostpunk, Moonlighter and This War of Mine,” says the CEO of 11 bit studios S.A. This makes him believe that the second half of the year should be far better in terms of financial performance for 11 bit studios S.A. than the first six months.

Miechowski also said that in the second half of 2019 the Company should make the first decisions regarding two new games it plans to produce. They will be marketed after Project 8 is released. “By producing several games at a time 11 bit studios S.A. will get much closer to achieving its medium-term goal of releasing one own game a year,” he added. To increase its production capacity, the Company is actively recruiting, also for managerial positions. “This year, we plan to increase our staffing levels to 140–150. The first months of this year have shown that we are close to achieving this target.” said the President of the Management Board of 11 bit studios S.A.
