On August 6th 2019, 11 bit studios S.A. released the third paid DLC in the TWoM: Stories’ series, launched a few quarters ago. It is titled TWoM: Stories – Fading Embers.
The new DLC for 11 bit studios S.A.’s cult game: TWoM: Stories – Fading Embers presents the story of Anjawho, living in a world torn by war, needs to answer a question for herself: what is more important – preservation of our cultural heritage or the survival of man. “When faced by problems such as death and famine, do people alter their perception of art and culture? In times like that, do paintings, sculptures and rare books become only means of survival, despite their artistic value, just because by destroying them we can postpone our own death? Is this justified?” asks Tomasz Kisilewicz, Project Lead responsible for creating the latest TWoM DLC. “The players will need to work through those dilemmas on their own,” he concludes.
As the two previous DLCs in the series, TWoM: Stories – Fading Emberswill offer a whole range of new and fresh ideas, new locations in Pogoren city and its surroundings, while the game’s non-linear structure will lead the players to different ends, depending on what difficult ethical decisions they make.
The first DLC in the TWoM: Stories’ series was released on November 14th 2017, and the second one a year later. “Both were very well received by gamers, who have bought several hundred thousand copies of each to date, thus extending TWoM’s life cycle and monetisation,” says Grzegorz Miechowski, President of the 11 bit studios S.A. Management Board. He also notes that the basic version of TWoM, available in PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions and a version for mobile devices (iOS and Android), has already been purchased by more than 5 million fans. “Cumulative revenues earned by 11 bit studios S.A. from sales of TWoM and its DLCs have exceeded PLN 90 million,” he declares.
TWoM: Stories – Fading Embers is available from Steam, GOG, Humble Store, Mac Appstore and other digital stores. The retail price was set at USD/EUR 3.99. Gamers can also buy all DLCs of the TWoM: Stories series in a package (Season Pass) for USD/EUR 6.99.
