The game’s premiere will take place less than two months later

11 bit studios has decided to expand Frostpunk 2 to feature added mechanics, set to further elevate the gameplay experience. Accordingly, the game’s release will be put off several weeks relative to the originally planned date.

Frostpunk 2 for PCs will hit the stores on September 20th 2024. As previously announced, the game was to premiere on 25 July this year. “Having analysed thousands of testing surveys gathered after we made the Beta version available in April, which is just a small slice of the full-fledged, ever-expanding production, we were able to set priorities on the long list of features we planned to add to the game. We also realised that to do the job well and deliver a prime quality product to players, we needed more time to complete development work on Frostpunk 2. We decided to address the feedback already in the release version rather than post-release patches of the game. This means, however, that we need a few more weeks to finish the work,” comments Przemysław Marszał, President of the Management Board of 11 bit studios, on the postponed release date. He reveals that the list of enhancements to be implemented into Frostpunk 2 includes newly added mechanics, improved user interface and UX, to name just some examples. “We’ll also use the extra time to fine-tune all the game’s elements so the final version lives up to our high expectations and ambitions,” adds the 11 bit studios representative.

He admits that the decision to postpone the release of Frostpunk 2 until September means that the market premiere of The Alters, eagerly awaited by fans, will also take place a little later than the end of August or beginning of September, as previously hinted. “The releases of Frostpunk 2 and The Alters will be only weeks apart,” he assures. However, he refuses to reveal the exact date when the latter game is due for launch.
